July 2022

Due to escalating costs and because fundraising is taking longer than hoped, The Friends and Montgomery Town Council are taking a phased approach to delivery of the overall project.
The aim is to deliver the first phase by the end of 2022 which will see a raised central mound with ‘keep’ and other earthworks, accessible paths and bridged entrance to the mound, accessible play equipment and a variety of natural play items around the base of the mound.
The plan is that Phase 1 will see a play area in its own right that can be added to as funding for subsequent phases are in place.
A tender document is being drafted by MTC in order to employ contractors to work on this phase and it is hoped that work could start early autumn 2022 ahead of wetter weather.
At the same time another bid for a Medium Grant is going to the Lottery this summer for phase 2 with the hope that this can be started Spring 2023.
