September 2023

Well, it’s the moment you have all been waiting for…imagine a drum roll at this point… After several years of ups and downs, swings and roundabouts 😅… we are FINALLY able to announce that the new play park is soon to arrive, with the aim to install it from mid October, only taking a couple of weeks to complete! 🤞🙌 Due to an incredible donation we have recently received it means that we can add the much-desired zip wire to the equipment list.

We are so very grateful to this anonymous benefactor for their generosity towards this project and also to all of those who have supported us along the way, whether it’s through grants, donations, serving cakes, designing maps, scarecrows and all other manner of things we shout a HUGE thank you to you all! ❤️❤️💚

So what will be appearing on site? There will be a basket swing, toddler swings and ones for older children too, a multi-purpose activity frame for climbing and balancing and a 20 metre zip wire - all using natural materials as much as possible, reflecting the original designs. There will also be a new accessible entrance and a path leading into the park.
The existing roundabout in Tan y Mur will be relocated at this time and we are working towards bringing the new dragon into the mix in due course (more about that to come). Mud kitchens, sound pieces, benches and bins will follow too. We will continue to fundraise for more items including a larger climbing piece for older children, as well as some toddler pieces and other individual items. Funds raised will also be to support ongoing maintenance.

A voluntary organisation comprising local people with the aim to support the development and maintenance of a new play park in Montgomery in collaboration with Montgomery Town Council.

100 Square Club Draw – Drawn by 12 noon 1st of every month for 12 months Each of the 12 monthly draws will take place on the 1st of each month where three numbers will be drawn at each occasion using online random draw generator software.

In the unlikely event that the same number is drawn twice within the same draw, it will only win the higher value prize and a new number will be redrawn. The draws will be shown live online at Montgomery Play Park Facebook page. Within each monthly draw, three numbers will be drawn: the first drawn number will win £25, the second will win £10 and the third £5.

Remaining proceeds will go towards the development of the Play Park in Montgomery. We will attempt to phone the winner/s on the 1st of each month. If the prize is unclaimed by the winner after the draw on the 1st of each month, it will be kept for a month after the draw. If, after that time it remains unclaimed, it will go back into the draw funds.

Each entry will be added to a secure, temporary FMPP (Friends of Montgomery Play Park) 100 Square Club database and allocated a unique draw number.

Personal details will be removed within 2 months of the last draw.

The draw will take place inline with the Gambling Act 2005 and FMPP hold a Gambling license with Powys County Council.
